Who Am I?
A Versatile Content Creator & Copy Editor
"I'm too behind on grading your papers so if you want it edited, just give it to Claire"
-Mrs. Grindstaff, Honors English I 2012

It was in that moment my freshman year of high school that I suddenly felt like I had a real skill. A talent. A craft. At the time, I could attribute my incisive grammar skills to my mom and her required summer reading book reports. However, in the last 8 years, I've developed my affinity for editing and sharpened my skills to a point so fine it's practically begging to be written with.

Why Me?
Passion Project
"Nothing needs to happen in a writer’s life after they were 20. By then they’d experienced more than enough to last their creative life."
-Flannery O'Connor

We writers are an envious bunch. And we love to throw around the word "passion" in attempts to say, no it's me! I'M the one who loves reading and writing the most! Obviously, given my field, I'm a big fan of both, but that's not my whole pitch.

I house the ability to thrive in any editorial environment. I've successfully navigated news, magazine, academic, and blogging backgrounds in just the last two years alone. My lack of specialty is exactly what makes me so special. I can adhere to and execute any style guide or SOP with impeccable precision. I've also been known to balance multiple styles simultaneously while I work on different projects for different commitments.
Simply put, I can do anything.

Now What?
Bachelor of Arts Completion: May 2020
"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life"
-Confucius

Since June 2019, I have applied for over 400 jobs. In spite of recent world events, I have no intention of slowing down my efforts to finding the best job for me, where I can do my best for that job. I hope to find a position that showcases everything that I have to contribute to the company's culture and mission. The College of Charleston has helped me grow as a person, writer, and editor. And while I'm secure in my expertise, I know that there is always, always more to learn. Even after graduation, I can't wait to keep learning.
